Stretching Exercises For The Whole Body

Stretching is an important part of an overall fitness plan, especially over the age of forty. If you stretch several times a week you will:
  • Improve your flexibility.
  • Recover faster from workouts.
  • Help prevent injuries.
The best time to stretch is after exercise when your muscles are warmed up, but you can stretch at any time. When stretching, follow these guidelines:
  • Use gentle pressure.
  • Do not use a bouncing motion.
  • Hold each stretch for 20 – 30 seconds.
